Bought this to replace a 10-year-old HP all-in-1 that finally expired.Short story: this looks like it will work with our home Apple devices and on our Google mesh wifi network. But setup is not intuitive, and I can understand why buyers without some IT background have found it frustrating. At least 5% of the Amazon reviews about *every* printer I considered said something like the following, where "xxx" is a placeholder for all of the leading printer brands, including HP, Brother, Epson, Kyocera, and Lexmark:"I used to love , but this printer is a useless soon-to-be birdhouse that . I called support and I was on hold for 3 weeks, so now I think that is the worst company in the history of global commerce and I'll never buy another printer from them ever."So, since all printers are, apparently, garbage, I bought the cheapest monochrome laser all-in-1 I could find. The build quality of this Pantum, which cost $132, is no worse than the HP it replaced. There appear to be multiple options for replacement toner cartridges. The documentation, both included and what I could find online, is in broken English and not very helpful. I found that I had to download the driver software and connect to the printer with the included USB cable to join the printer to my wireless network, which is Google mesh wifi. Once I did that, Google wifi reported the IP address it had assigned to the printer and then I could browse to that IP to get to the printer's web interface. From there, it's possible to change the printer's admin password and make some other settings changes, too, but it does not appear that changing the printer's wifi connection is possible from the web interface; that requires the wireless configuration utility and a USB connection. The instructions for AirPrint printing were useless, because they require joining your device to the printer's built-in hotspot which will disconnect both your device's connection to your own wifi network and consequently your device's connection to the internet. But once I joined the printer to my wifi network as described above, AirPrint works perfectly, at least so far. In the web interface, I disabled the printer's "wireless hotspot" by clicking "close" (yes, the grammar in the firmware is weird, too).If this printer works for a couple of years, after which I hope the major manufacturers stop trying to rip consumers' off with various "express" toner and ink scams, I'll be happy.I like the price for machine and ink. I do not like the fact you have to have a cable to sync your pc to printer. They both have wireless cards, it makes no since to me. Connectivity to several PCs / phones msybe problematic. I did call their help desk and the person was polite and knowledgeablePrinter and copier section work very well....quite pleased. The scanner, however has issues...one day it works fine, the next it just seems to get locked up for some reason, and even rebooting the PC and/or the printer doesn't shake it loose. I guess for the cost, if only using the print function, it's a good value. Typical laser printer...it uses a lot of power....causing lights in the room on the same circuit to flicker when used. The sleep mode comes on too fast for my liking, however....but overall decent.I'm not one to write negative review, but I'm trying to save you your hard earn money. If you are not technical round person DO NOT purchase this printer. To start the printer is no longer on PANTUM website for support or driver updates. The instruction to set-up or to install the drivers are wrong (and poorly written). The quality of the printer is not the best and un unnecessary loud. The board control make no sense. The mobile application was probably create and coded by a high school kid. The desktop application doesn't allowed you to have full control of the printer. It's best that you set-up the printer using the IPv4 address everything else will not allowed you to share your printer with your network.Pantum really need to invest in the mobile and desktop software. You cannot scan document to a pdf format but only a jpg format. I don't expect an HP application options. However this need a lot of work. All together, I wouldn't recommend this printer to anyone looking for a ready to go printer. For all the ink Jet cartridges I’ve gone through over the years and multiple printers - like one a year? This printer is fabulous and just a little more than an ink jet but it prints professional black and white copies quickly and without issues I’m very happy with it. I wish I’d bought one like this years ago!Printer is outstanding, prime deliveryPerson was rude.. sat printer on edge of porch. Almost fell off!!!!!!goodA good printer value for the money. However, the printed instructions and online resources are total crap. I haven't seen documentation this bad since the early 1980s. Most of the Internet links provided in the printed documentation lead to "404 page not found" errors. In making a more general search, there appear to be multiple Pantum websites, all of which do no more than a marginal job in providing useful information. I have yet to find a PDF user's manual I can download. Again, this printer is a good value for the money, but I would only recommend it for power users capable of installing and using hardware without instructions.
