As a teacher, I'm always hole punching something. This lasted for about 3 months before one of the punches stopped working. Now I have to punch, then turn the pack upside down, & punch again. That way I can be sure that all 3 holes are cut all the way through. Kind of a pain & a waste of most precious resource... TIME! I'm going to use this as a back up and buy a different brand. Too late to return it.Great product and meets my expectationsPurchased one for my office, my boss saw it, used it and had me order two more. Great buy.Good automatic punch for smaller tasks, we did 500 pages in a shot time limit to using 3 punches in an hour accordant instructions. Big annoyance is no on off switch so they want you to remove the batteries, really? How about removing one battery? How about plugging it in? I don't get it. Nice product over than that.Hard to open the battery door and chad collector without the help of a screwdriver. But we like using it anyway.Rarely do I write product reviews because most products are just O.K? However on that rare occasion when I do run across what I feel is an exceptional item, I will speak out. The Swingline Optima 20 Electric Paper Punch deserves my recognition.I was killing my hands and wrist punching holes for my binders. I started looking on the “net” for a solution and came across the Swingline product on Amazon. I read the reviews. Some good, some…not so much!It wasn’t cheap, but then I don’t usually buy cheap. I figured for what they were asking, it better be decent. Well, I am here to tell you, it’s more than decent. Not only is it well design but it looks good, so far for me it is working flawlessly. All I can tell you is that the folks having problems with this hole puncher have not read the instructions, or they could have gotten a defect. S**t happens! Twenty (20) pages is its maximum, not 30, 40 or anything else you try to shove in it. And I don’t need it to be adjustable.I’ve had mine about a month, and it works like a hot knife through butter. One person complained because they still had to press the top. ROFLMAO! I don’t need them to try and put in an electric eye and jack up the price to $200.A two year old can press that puppy! Get one and save yourself some work. Can’t believe I haven’t gotten one long ago.TJPS: I am updating this review and attaching two photos. Swingline has updated this "punch", model 74520. I received the one on the left which is not shown on Amazon yet. It was delivered from OfficeMax which I understands gets Swinglines newest first. IMHO this new design is even better, especially for the poor folks that still have to push down on the top! Another reviewer said it was too loud…really? LOL! Get one feel the relief! This was used in several classroom still going strong years later. This model is too lightweight to effectively punch holes in the recommended number of pages. It slides away. Previous models had more heft.Didnt last very long, not durableI am really happy. I belong to a ukelele band and am in charge of copying music. I need to punch 3 holes in sheets to fit book. Since it does 5 sheets at once it takes no time and protects my wrists and handsfantastic machine, a little bulky and heavier than i expected but all is well. Love Swingline Office Products...hard to beat for performance and durability!Picture appears to be turquoise. Please put in a more accurate picture.it works fine but the right hand side of the plastic cover was scratched and cracked when I received.Works very well.
